I have officially lost 7 lbs., which is not much, but everything lost is gain. I have been taking the baby on walks in the stroller because it has been sunny and fair here lately. Nike+ has been a new investment that I truly enjoy. In addition, I have rejoined Weight Watchers. I have started doing some weights/calisthenics routines from Nike Training Club. Mostly for the recipes, but it is a good system with good accountability.
My husband and I have came up with a list of 12 weight/fitness related goals in which we will compete for like prizes. Some are presents like $25 of iTunes purchases (for example) but others are services like one weekend free of baby diaper changes. We both have made head way but do often have steps backward in our eating habits. I am working on getting more consistent. Until next time.

Diet is a four letter word.
Exercise is progressing. Maybe buying a treadmill. I didn't get to the gym as much as I'd like last week, but did circuit training that left my hamstrings crying :)
As with last time I lost weight, diet is my biggest hurdle. I have trouble ridding myself of old habits and I definitely stress eat! I am fighting gluttony, right now it's winning :)
Today is valentines day, trying to avoid chocolate, we'll see how we do (including my hubby in this one.)

Spin class. In Deutsch.
Tuesday evening I went to a spin class at my gym. I knew it would not be in English, nor did I expect them to accommodate me in anyway, but it definitely made me realize to what extent my German needs work. :) It was an hour long class, but I jumped in head first. I was proud I only turned my resistance lower than the average twice and I kept up. I went back to gym wednesday and did a 1/2 hour on the stair master and 1/2 on an elliptical. I took today off. My legs are thanking me. Tomorrow we (me and my legs) are back at it.
My amazing, gorgeous, awesome hubby has an idea, and I think it is a good one. He wants to lose a little weight (a fraction of my long term goal but still hard) so he proposes that we some how make a milestone contest i.e. first one to lose 5 % of total goal weight will get $30 off iTunes, etc. We have to figure out how to sync up our goals because I want to lose MUCH more than him but we want to support each other. :) I am grateful he understands my short comings (and sadly struggles as well), but many guys would not. I appreciate him for understanding, and never saying anything negative. He is an optimist (compared to me anyway).

A regretful, and quite embarrassing, decision.
Sorry for the disgusting-ish title, but I found it funny and it had alliteration.
After almost 10 months of claiming my weight gain has been from the child I birthed, I have decided to say enough is enough. I have struggled with my weight since the end of high school, which worsened during college and even more so after moving to Japan. In Japan, I didn't work or do, well, anything so I ballooned up to 235 lbs. (which on my 5'5 frame, did not look pretty)
It took about 8 months of running, stair climbing, weight resistance, working out twice per day and eating high protein/ low carb/low fat. Needless to say I dropped weight very quickly and looked much better. I got pregnant, ate ALL the time (anything I wanted), and stopped sweating myself to death. I swore as soon as the baby was out, I was back in shape. He came out, I started to workout, but nothing consistent. I gained more weight, as I was exhausted by motherhood and never wanted to cook. Take out became our go to dinner.
Here I am. 235 lbs. once again. This ends now. I will get back to looking better and feeling like something that is not featured in Ghostbusters (marshmallow man, for those of you who did not get the reference).
This is a way to stay accountable; and since I have many friends who are fitness "experts" and one who is a Zumba instructor/fitness guru (for real) I will get people's advice and input. Thanks for interest.
